The “BreastFreedom” project was inspired by my extensive contact with mothers, mostly in the postpartum period, during photography sessions. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends breastfeeding until age 2, with exclusive breastfeeding for the first 6 months. However, statistics show that modern women are breastfeeding less and less due to various reasons. These include the lack of a support network, access to information, and societal hostility towards mothers breastfeeding in public.
Nowadays, it is unacceptable that mothers still feel watched or judged for breastfeeding in any space. Given numerous accounts of prejudice and discomfort surrounding public breastfeeding, "BreastFreedom" was created to break paradigms and spread awareness. Breastfeeding is not just an act of love, but also a political act! Together, we can create a world where every mother feels empowered to feed her child wherever and whenever she needs to, without fear of judgment. Let’s stand up for the right to breastfeed freely and proudly!
